New Dog is Anar Badalov, publishing guy by day and amateur boxer and songscribbler by night, formerly of the bands Metal Hearts (Suicide Squeeze Records) and Travels. Badalov has shared the stage with artists including Sun Kil Moon, Fleet Foxes, Chad Vangaalen, Kristin Hersh, Black Heart Procession, Minus the Bear, Murder by Death, and Michael Gira/Angels of Light. He recorded two albms with his band Metal Hearts in 2005 and 2006; four albums with Travels between 2007-2012; and three solo under the New Dog moniker since then, the second of which came out on Kill Rock Stars in 2015.
His newest album, Teeth Marks, was released on Heart of a Dog (US) and Lokal Rekorc (CZ) in March 2016.
